Our Approach
PassagePlan Pro uses essential cookies only. We do not use tracking cookies, advertising cookies, or third-party marketing cookies. We do not track you across websites or share browsing data with advertisers.
Cookies We Use
Authentication (Essential)
When you log in, Supabase Auth sets a session cookie to keep you authenticated. This cookie is essential for the service to function — without it, you would need to log in on every page load. This cookie is httpOnly and secure.
localStorage
We use your browser's localStorage (not cookies) to store the following preferences locally on your device:
- Dark mode preference (
pp_theme) — remembers your light/dark mode selection - PDF export section selection (
pp_export_sections) — remembers which sections you include when downloading passage plans as PDF
localStorage data never leaves your device and is not sent to our servers.
Third-Party Cookies
Our chart view loads map tiles from OpenStreetMap and OpenSeaMap. These tile servers may set their own cookies when tiles are requested. We do not control these cookies. Refer to:
What We Do Not Use
- No Google Analytics or similar tracking
- No advertising cookies or pixels
- No third-party marketing cookies
- No social media tracking widgets
- No fingerprinting or cross-site tracking
Managing Cookies
You can clear cookies and localStorage through your browser settings. Note that clearing authentication cookies will log you out, and clearing localStorage will reset your theme and export preferences to defaults.
